The Oregon Trail® Game 5K and 8K
Start/Finish: Main Street in Oregon City (between 8th and 9th)

Start Time: 9:00 am and 9:15 am
Based on the classic 1980’s computer game, The Oregon Trail® Game 5K and 8K takes runners on a cross-country adventure from Missouri to Oregon, over mountains and across rivers, and to their final destination – Oregon City! Runners will have to make decisions along the course such as whether to ford a river, go hunting, and more. Can you make it to Oregon or will you die of dysentery? Each decision you make along the trail will determine your ultimate fate. Runners receive a timed score as well as a game score.

5k and 8k Children (ages 4 through 12)*:

*Children age 3 and younger are FREE, but do not receive a bib or timing chip.

The Oregon Trail® Game 5K and 8k are fun yet challenging courses through Downtown Oregon City. You can walk or run the course, but whatever you do, just make it to the end of the Oregon Trail!
Course features include:
- Start and finish on historic Main Street in Downtown Oregon City
- Run past the iconic 99-year-old Municipal Elevator
- Challenging 223-step run up stairs alongside Singer Hill Falls
- Beautiful views overlooking the Willamette River and Willamette Falls
- Run through the historic McLoughlin neighborhood and past attractions including Carnegie Library, McLoughlin House and Barclay House
- Run through Waterboard Park’s beautiful wooded natural area
Race Participant T-Shirt
T-shirts are available for purchase for $12 each and can be purchased in advance through the online race registration until July 10, 2017.
The t-shirt is a 60% cotton/40% polyester blend that has a soft, comfortable feel. The t-shirt is black and comes in sizes small, medium, large and x-large. T-shirt fabric blend, color, and image subject to change based upon final selected manufacturer and printer. T-shirt design will be available soon!
The Oregon Trail® Game 5K and 8K is a family-friendly event. Children 12 years and under can register at a special rate of $15 and enter the kids’ category, where awards will be given for the top three runners.
The 5k course is stroller-friendly. Strollers will be re-routed to the Municipal Elevator instead of the stairs to complete the course. The 8k course may have off road paths and some stairs and may not work with strollers.
Please note: no dogs allowed on the 5K course.
Parking and Transportation
Parking – Parking will be very limited the day of the race so PLEASE CARPOOL!!
Public Transportation – Public transportation is a great way to get to the event!
